Hope and Dreams

Advent begins this Sunday, a journey of mystery and darkness, a journey to hope. This Sunday, we also begin a two part Spiritual Growth series about Matthew’s and Luke’s very, very different stories about the birth of Jesus. This is the Christmas you probably don’t know, because we tend to leave out the best parts when we read it in church.  

This Sunday, we begin with Matthew: a tale of dreams and dreamers, of evil kings and wise magi. Yet it’s a story that we can only really understand if we hear in it the echos of far more ancient dreams of freedom.
