Dreading Thanksgiving
For many of us, the Thanksgiving after an election is a source of unparalleled dread: spending a day with relations whose political opinions stretch one’s capacity for Christian charity, to say nothing of familial feeling and holiday goodwill. Although I fully support anyone who institutes a rule of “no politics” at this year’s gatherings, I also firmly believe that we all could stand to be more courageous and better skilled at talking with people who share (seemingly) very different views from us.
