A Weird Yet Wonderful Sunday

February 2 is the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, also known as Candlemas. When February 2 falls on a Sunday, then we get to celebrate this feast. It’s a holiday about a very special moment in Luke’s story of Jesus’ birth: the prophets Simeon and Anna recognizing the coming of the Messiah. It’s a day that, in the Northern Hemisphere, traditionally focuses on the returning of daylight and the first signs of the end of winter.
