All Saints & All Souls
Ancient cultures and religions have had an intuition that the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter was a time when the boundary between the living and the dead became thin. Christianity has been wise to carry on this spirituality, with the feasts of All Saints and All Souls. This Sunday, we remember the saints recognized by the church and the holy ones of our own lives, remembering our beloved dead with both grief and gratitude, sadness and assurance.
