Boy Scout Troop 50

St Gregory’s has supported this boy scout troop for 50 years and a number of our own youth have participated. Eagle scouts have undertaken a number of service projects for the church.

Career Renewal

Career Renewal Ministry supports and assists individuals who have become unemployed, are seeking employment for the first time or are re-entering the job market after a significant absence. The Career Renewal Ministry was formed in 1986 by members of St. Gregory's Episcopal Church and Holy Cross Catholic Church in Deerfield. Since that time, the ministry has worked with over 500 participants, assisting many directly or indirectly in their career searches. Visit the Career Renewal website.

Christmas Basket Program

This annual program enables parishioners and community members to sponsor a family in need and participate in helping them to celebrate Christmas. Sponsors prepare a gift basket with gifts requested by the family. Sponsor sign up occurs in early fall and gift baskets are generally due the first week of December.

Community Meals

Community Meals prepares and serves a mid-afternoon meal for the Waukegan (IL) community at Christ Church as one of a group of teams that has a turn every other month on a scheduled Sunday.

Lake County United

St. Gregory's Church is a member organization of Lake County United, a non-profit, non-partisan, broad based community organization of civil society institutions working for a just society through active citizenship, building relationships across Lake County, identifying community concerns and needs and working together as a united power for human dignity, social justice and the greater good.

Red Bag 'Feed the Hungry' Program

On the first Sunday of each month, red bags of food filled by parishioners are gathered and taken alternately to Vernon Township food Pantry and West Deerfield Township Food Pantry. The red bags advertise both our church and our “feed the hungry” program.

Twelve Step Programs

A number of twelve step programs, including Alcoholics Anonymous(AA), Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACoA), and Al-Anon meet at the church throughout the week. Consult our calendar for the weekly schedule of meetings.
