THIS SUNDAY AT ST. G’S

8am – Worship

9am – Formation for youth and discussion of weekly Lessons for adults

10am - Worship

11am – Coffee Hour – We hope to offer a coffee hour this week, but a volunteer is needed! Contact the church ASAP to host!

Noon – Community Meals

Please join your fellow St. Gregory’s members to prepare and serve a hot meal to our neighbors in Waukegan at Christ Church Community Meals Soup Kitchen.  The church address is 410 W. Grand Ave and we meet at 12 noon at the back doors.  We are done with clean up by 3:30 pm.  We also need desserts.  Don't forget any extra Halloween candy. This is an excellent opportunity to put your love for your neighbors into action while also getting to know your fellow parishioners.  Please sign up on the sheet near the kitchen at the church.  Please contact Barb Schaper at (bschaper7@aol.com.)

If you would like to prepare for Sunday’s Worship Service, please click on the link to read the Lessons and the Gospel from the Lectionary http://www.lectionarypage.net/YearC_RCL/Pentecost/CProp28_RCL.html

Isaiah 65:17-25
Canticle 9
2 Thessalonians 3:6-13
Luke 21:5-19

The weekly readings are discussed each Sunday morning at 9 am in Founders Hall.

HARRY POTTER WEEKEND – FEBRUARY 15-17

Expecto Patronum!!! If you love Harry Potter (or want to understand why others do) plan to join us for a Harry Potter weekend at the Castle at Stronghold in Oregon, IL over President's Day weekend (February 15-17, 2020). There will be four churches combining for a weekend at Hogwarts! Adults with no kids are welcome. Families are welcome, and teens will have their own space too! Mark your calendars so you don't plan anything else for that weekend! Get ready for butter beer, chocolate frogs and Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans!

STAY CONNECTED TO OUR YOUTH

Our children and youth are very busy with sports, music, school etc. So we want to make sure they stay connected to our church by bringing the church to them at their events!  Shelley has put a Clip board on the "St. Greg's Youth Away from St. Greg's" bulletin board (across from the basement door) where parents and students can put events in which they are participating. Be sure to check it out! If you are interested in attending these events, contact Shelley for details.

TRAVEL TOILETRY DONATIONS NEEDED

Thanks to travel toiletry donations made by St. Gregory's parishioners, guests have been able to receive personal care packs at the Community Meal program in Waukegan. Please continue to donate unused toiletry items in the box located in Founders Hall by the Eagle Scout plaques. Thank you for your help!
