THIS SUNDAY AT ST. G’S -  DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS, ALL SOULS DAY & FOOD COLLECTION

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS AT 2AM THIS SUNDAY

Please remember to push your clocks back at 2 am Sunday, November 3. Don’t want to be late for Sunday Services!

ALL SOULS DAY HONORS LOVED ONES – BRING PICTURES

On Sunday, we will celebrate the combined feast of All Souls and All Saints. It is a St. Gregory’s tradition to read the names of those who have died in the past year, and those who are buried in our churchyard. We will be reading names at both services.  We will have a table set up in the chapel to display pictures of our loved ones so we can have them visually present while they are spiritually present in the liturgy. Please bring your pictures with you to the service (framed or unframed, big, little, or in between!), and we will put the pictures on the altar after we read the names. Any questions, contact Charlene at 847-945-1678.

FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS

The November 3 collection will be donated to the Deerfield Township Food Pantry. They’ve asked for canned fruit, canned peas, applesauce, hearty soups (the chunky type), canned chicken, canned tuna, boxed rice, condiments, barbecue sauce, and holiday baking supplies such as flour, sugar, baking soda, chocolate chips, sprinkles, vanilla. Also large bottles of shampoo and conditioner, paper goods and, of course, grocery store gift cards are always welcome.

IT’S CHRISTMAS BASKET TIME

It is time to sign up for a Christmas basket family or senior. There are still seniors and families of 2 or 3 available, and they are waiting for a sponsor.  This year, the pickup date will be Thursday, December 5th. We would like to have your boxes at church by Tuesday, December 3rd so we have time to get them organized for the pick-up.

The sign-up sheets with the family size and make-up are in Founder’s Hall.  If you have any questions or need more information, please contact me.  When you have signed up, I will get the packet of information about the family as well as the label sample, how to put the basket together, and donation form ready for you. Any family or senior unsponsored by November 12, will be returned to ReVive.

Thanks so much in advance for your support of this program,  Marilyn Knilans

STAY CONNECTED TO OUR YOUTH

Our children and youth are very busy with sports, music, school etc. So we want to make sure they stay connected to our church by bringing the church to them at their events!  Shelley has put a Clip board on the "St. Greg's Youth Away from St. Greg's" bulletin board (across from the basement door) where parents and students can put events in which they are participating. Be sure to check it out! If you are interested in attending these events, contact Shelley for details.
