COMMUNITY MEALS:  NEXT TIME TO SERVE – MAY 13

Join us on Sunday, May 13th to prepare and serve lunch to people who need a warm meal. Bring the whole family for Mother’s Day, or celebrate early to miss the crowds – then serve this crowd! We also need people to donate desserts.  A sign up sheet is in Founder's Hall or contact Barb (bschaper7@aol.com, 847-948-8989.)

Thanks, Barb Schaper and Janet and Bill Foltz

ST. GREGORY’S BOOK CLUB – MAY 16 AT 7PM

On May 16th, book club will discuss books written by David McCullough (your choice).  It could be “Truman”, “The Wright Brothers”, or whatever you decide.  The April meeting was canceled due to weather so the April selection, “News of the World” by Paulette Jiles, will also discussed. All are invited at we will meet in the Conference Room at the Church.

PENTECOST CELEBRATION– MAY 20 – WEAR RED!!

Pentecost is the celebration of the gift of the Holy Spirit, and a joyful end to the Easter season. This year, we will celebrate Pentecost with prayer flags strung in the nave of the church, and with a PICNIC following the 10a service! The youth have already planned a very fun assortment of games and activities (teaser: there will be a giant sling shot game and flamingo ring toss!), so bring your sense of adventure.

·         Please bring a salad or dessert for the picnic – fried chicken will be provided!

·         Wear red – it’s the traditional color to represent the Holy Spirit, and its fun to have it fill the church.

·         If you can help set up and/or clean up, please contact Sharon Henley-Gramer (slgramer@comcast.net)

In preparation for Pentecost, prayer flags are in Founders’ Hall – come by any time and write your prayers on the flags we will string throughout the rafters of the Nave. If you are unable to get to church by next Monday, you can email your prayer requests, and we will write them for you.

ST. G’S IN THE JULY 4TH PARADE?

As an important part of the Deerfield community, wouldn’t it be fun for St. G’s to be a part of the July 4th parade? Donna Shelton is willing to help coordinate this effort – so if you are interested in dreaming about fun ways for us to radiate God’s grace in this way, or in being a part of it, please contact Donna at prairie94@aol.com.
