The Diocese of TX and the Diocese of West TX are tremendously affected by Hurricane Harvey, and the flood waters are still rising. Mother Anne is in touch with clergy friends in the affected area, and with the Dioceses. Donations can be given to St. Gregory’s to be sent as a group, or can be made individually online: www.episcopalrelief.org

In these difficult and dark times, let the power of storytelling illuminate our hearts.  Three exceptional storytellers will share stories from their own faiths—Christian, Jewish and Muslim—to transcend differences through shared belief in the power of compassion.  Come bask in the luminous light.

Tickets will be $10 each, and we will have them available for purchase soon. Proceeds beyond the cost of the performance will be given to Deerfield Township Food Pantry.

CROP HUNGER WALK 2017 – SUNDAY, OCTOBER 15 AT 12:30 PM

This year’s CROP walk registration begins at 12:30 pm at St. Giles Episcopal Church in Northbrook at 3025 Walters Avenue (Northbrook). Step-off time is 1:00 pm. There is a 5K walk, and a 1K Family walk with lots of great activities for kids!

CROP Hunger Walks help to provide food and water, as well as resources that empower people to meet their own needs. From seeds and tools, to wells and water systems, to technical training and micro-enterprise loans, the key is people working together to identify their own development priorities, their strengths and their needs something CWS has learned through some 69 years of working in partnership around the world. Glenbrook CROP Hunger Walk has raised over $650,000 over the past thirty-two years. Last year (2016), walkers raised $33,000. In addition, the St. Peter’s Legacy Fund (Northfield) donated $58,300. From these donations, $18,300 went to Northfield Township Food Pantry, and over $4,500 went to West Deerfield Township Food Pantry.  This year we will include Hunger Resource Network with our local recipients.

Join St. Gregory’s walking team, or donate online here: https://www.crophungerwalk.org/northbrookil/Team/View/47954/St-Gregorys-Episcopal
